Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards./ph2Your Impact/h2pCollect, extract, identify, and compile environmental data from soil sampling, soil gas sampling, groundwater sampling, stormwater sampling, boring logs, and other matrices for projects, investigations, and surveys./ppAssist with environmental site assessments (Phase I and II)./ppResearch environmental hazmat databases regarding historical property land uses./ppAssist with site investigation coordination, subsurface boring and trenching oversight, and monitoring of groundwater and extraction well installations./ppPrepare data and visualizations such as mineral charts, soil analyses, groundwater modeling, maps geologic cross-sections, and other illustrations./ppMaintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, analysis, and reporting./ppAssist with development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects./ppGenerate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site notebook./ppComply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but is not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, trench and boring, laboratory documentation, written procedures, monitoring systems, and logbooks./ppContribute to the preparation of technical reports and presentations that explain research and findings to prevent, control, restore, or clean-up chemical and environmental problems and contamination./ppMaintain and calibrate equipment and tools, troubleshooting and reporting on malfunctions, and performing inventory control activities./ppAssist in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of geologic, hydrogeologic, and chemical data obtained during field investigations, offering input with developing action plans for low to mid-level threat mitigation activities./ppWork with cross-functional teams in executing project work./ppAssist in the preparation and implementation of site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs)./ppExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures./ppPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needs./ph2Who You Are/h2pstrongRequired Qualifications/strong/pulliBachelors Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related discipline./lili3 to 5 years of experience working as a Geologist./liliKnowledge of geological research techniques and protocols./liliAbility to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements./liliExperience sampling soil and groundwater via drilling including direct-push, hollow-stem auger, and other similar drilling methods./liliExperience with evaluation of vapor intrusion and sampling soil gas per DTSC and EPA guidelines./liliExperience installing groundwater monitoring wells, remediation wells, and soil gas wells./liliExperience writing groundwater monitoring reports and well installation reports./liliKnowledge with the concepts of reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances, processes, or products., and mitigation programs./liliKnowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements./liliCapable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience./liliEffective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment./liliAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies./liliModerate proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools./liliCritical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, and identify the most cost-effective responses that will minimize waste, prevent pollution, and conserve resources./liliProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSPs health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies./liliAbility to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek./liliTravel requirements may be around 50%, depending on project-specific needs/li/ulpstrongPreferred Qualifications:/strong/pulliMasters Degree is preferred./lili40-Hour OSHA Health Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred./liliBasic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired./li/ulpstrongWSP Benefits:/strong/ppWSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employees career.
