The Integrative Medicine Physician provides patient-centered care by combining conventional medical approaches with evidence-based complementary therapies in an outpatient setting. They work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans focused on whole-person wellness, addressing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. This full-time role includes community engagement, education, and participation in wellness initiatives within a leading multi-specialty medical group in Northern California.

Team Structure & Culture
You will be part of a close-knit and diverse integrative health team including:
• 1 Integrative Medicine Physician
• 1 Nurse Practitioner
• Chiropractor
• Acupuncturist
• Psychotherapist
• 2 Massage Therapists
This collaborative team supports a holistic approach to patient care — enabling you to provide integrative physician consults , coordinate treatment plans, and partner across disciplines to guide patients on their individual wellness journeys.
Position Details
• Full-time position, .8–1.0 FTE (flexible within that range)
• Outpatient setting; no inpatient or call responsibilities
• Blend conventional and complementary therapies — including nutrition, mind-body practices, supplements, and lifestyle medicine — into personalized care plans
• Serve as a physician consultant for patients referred by Sutter colleagues or community providers seeking integrative approaches to complex or chronic conditions
• Support continuity and quality of care through timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Participate in community education, patient workshops, and wellness initiatives that advance whole-person health
Core Qualifications
• Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited residency (family medicine, internal medicine, or specialty)
Preferred or Specialized Qualifications
Integrative/Functional Medicine Training:
• Formal fellowship training (1–2 years) or certification in Integrative Medicine, Functional Medicine (IFM), or similar program
• Experience incorporating complementary modalities such as acupuncture, nutrition, mind-body medicine, herbal medicine, mindfulness, or yoga therapy
• Board Certification in Integrative Medicine through the American Board of Integrative Medicine (ABOIM) or completion of an approved fellowship highly preferred
