As a Music Therapist , you will create and implement impactful, evidence-based music therapy services aimed at improving the emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of elderly individuals. Your role will involve providing both group and individual music therapy sessions . We are looking for a creative, organized, and compassionate professional who excels in a collaborative environment. This position also offers avenues for professional advancement and leadership , including the opportunity to develop, manage, and oversee our Music Therapy Internship program, with the potential to submit the internship application after one year of employment.
Position Type: Full-Time, eligible for benefits
Available Shift:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional weekends or evenings for special events
Starting Wage: $23.75 per hour
Increased pay of $2.00 upon internship application approval after one full year at our facility
Bonus: $1,000

Responsibilities of the Music Therapist:
  • Conduct small group and individual music therapy sessions across all units
  • Lead resident performance groups such as Community Choir, Chime Choir, and Jug Band
  • Document resident participation and engagement
  • Create Activity and Music Therapy Care Plans
  • Collaborate closely with the recreation team for program and event planning
  • Prepare and submit the application for our Music Therapy Internship program after 12 months of employment
  • Supervise and mentor interns and practicum students
  • Educate staff and families about the benefits of Music Therapy
Qualifications for the Music Therapist:
  • Certification as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) is required
  • Experience in dementia care and skilled nursing environments is preferred
  • Self-motivated, able to manage multiple tasks, energetic, and detail-oriented
  • Strong organizational, communication, and musical abilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively within a team
