Physician Assistant Critical Care

Westchester Medical Center Valhalla, NY

Summary:

The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Westchester Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team. In this strictly inpatient, nonoperative critical care role, the PA will work alongside experienced physician and PA colleagues managing diverse trauma and surgical patients.

Responsibilities:

\n\t
• Performing medical evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse surgical critical care patients.
\n\t
• Responding to, managing and delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
\n\t
• Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited central line placement/removal, insertion/removal of chest tubes, and arterial lines.
\n

Qualifications:

\n\t
• Candidates must be board certified as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and possess or be able to obtain an applicable license in New York.
\n\t
• Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of Critical Care experience but new graduates will be considered.
\n\t
• Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
\n\t
• Candidates must have BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS
\n
