divh2Professional Standards Specialist/h2pCompensation Range: $36.39 - $47.31/ph3Job Description/h3pThe Professional Standards Specialist is a highly organized, detail oriented, and motivated professional who is passionate about excellence and standardization in the delivery of emergency services. The Professional Standards Specialist is responsible for managing the agencys accreditations and accreditation processes including oversight of the agencys written directives. In addition, they are responsible for aggregating and reporting on a variety of statistical data and conducting a variety of internal reviews to ensure we are delivering the highest level of customer service and care to our citizens and user agencies./ph3Directive Management - 25%/h3ulliDevelops a template for agency directives to consistently create documents that meet all standards on language, style, structure, and format, and meet any legal requirements./liliAnalyzes operational processes to determine documentation requirements./liliGathers information through research, collaboration with cross functional teams and interviews with subject matter experts to write all agency directives./liliUpdates, edits, and improves all existing directives./liliDetermines if directives are aligned with goals and objectives./liliDevelops and implements an approval and publication process./liliImplements and maintains a standard directive review schedule./liliStays abreast of operational changes and update directives to reflect current processes./liliPerforms regular assessments on the effectiveness of the documents produced./liliEnsures directives continually meet accreditation standards./li/ulh3Accreditation Management - 25%/h3ulliResearches and recommends accreditations that will benefit the organization./liliEnsures executive staff has comprehensive information to make decision regarding accreditation./liliActs as a liaison on all matters pertaining to accreditation and interpret accreditation standards for agency staff./liliCreates and maintains files for compliance with accreditation processes./liliStays abreast of changes in accreditation standards, operations, reporting requirements, and other issues which may affect the continuing accredited status of the agency./liliEnsures all aspects of the accreditation maintenance process are completed, including time sensitive standards, periodic inspection reports, reviews, and updates./liliCoordinates agency personnel, activities, records, and systems with regards to maintaining accreditation standards, including the establishment of proper documentation demonstrating accreditation compliance and assisting with on-site inspections./liliActs as liaison for emergency service agencies on the portions of their agency accreditations related to Public Safety Communications./li/ulh3Statistics and Reporting - 25%/h3ulliGathers statistical data according to prescribed processes./liliAggregates statistical data for analysis by leadership./liliEnters data into various systems for tracking and dissemination./liliUses statistical data to draft the monthly staff performance reports./liliGathers data and prepare monthly and annual reports for stakeholders./li/ulh3Call Review - 25%/h3ulliConducts incident investigations when requested./liliConducts after action reviews for high-risk incidents./liliConducts quality assurance reviews as part of the change management process./liliConducts performance reviews to support the organizations Key Performance Indicators./liliConducts protocol reviews as needed./li/ulh3Required for All Jobs/h3ulliPerforms other duties as assigned/liliComplies with all policies and standards/li/ulh3Required Qualifications/h3pstrongRequired Education/strong/pulliHigh School Diploma/GED or equivalent./li/ulpstrongRequired Experience /strong/pulli2 years Experience researching, organizing, preparing, and coordinating a wide range of projects, reports, and documents, within a public safety agency./li/ulpstrongPreferred Experience/strong/pulli1 year One or more years of experience managing the accreditation process./li/ulpstrongSkills and Abilities/strong/pulliStrong knowledge of modern public safety communications principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment./liliInternal candidates must have a minimum of a satisfactory rating in every category of most recent performance evaluation./liliSuperior attention to detail, proof-reading, and editing skills./liliSuperior organization and time management skills with the proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines./liliSuperior written and spoken communication skills./liliHigh emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and build strong professional relationships./liliAbility to acquire knowledge and skill independently without the benefit of formal instruction./liliAbility to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal guidance./liliProficient with all MS Office applications./liliCandidate must pass a background check and substance abuse screening prior to employment start date./li/ulpstrongLicenses and Certifications/strong/pulliDL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Candidate must possess a drivers license by the employment start date and maintain a valid license for the duration of employment.
