Litigation Attorney-Public Entity Defense

A top firm with multiple offices in the Bay Area is looking for litigation attorneys of all experience levels to handle public entity litigation!

Are you an experienced Litigation Attorney with a passion for public entity defense? We are seeking a Litigation Attorney-Public Entity Defense to join our dynamic team. This role will involve working on high-profile cases, providing legal advice to public entities, and representing them in civil, state, and federal litigation.

Responsibilities

As a Litigation Attorney-Public Entity Defense, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Representing public entities in civil, state, and federal litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and managing all aspects of litigation from inception to resolution.
• Providing legal advice to public entities on a wide range of issues, including municipal law, government law, and local government laws.
• Advocating for clients in court, at administrative hearings, and in arbitration proceedings.
• Negotiating settlements on behalf of public entities.
• Conducting legal research and preparing legal documents, such as contracts and pleadings.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, providing them with regular updates on case progress and legal developments.
• Collaborating with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services.

Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should have:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in civil litigation, state litigation, federal litigation, municipal law, government law, and local government law.
• Proven experience representing public entities in litigation.
• Excellent research, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
• Demonstrated commitment to public service and a strong interest in public entity defense.
• High ethical standards and professional integrity.
